Stellite Saw Blades for Frame Saws

Frame Saw blades are used for cutting both hard woods and soft woods. The saw blades come in a variety of lengths according to the frame in which they are installed. Saw Blades are produced from high-grade Swedish spring steel and the stellite teeth are welded to the body of the blade. The geometry of the face can be ground according to the material being processed. Blades can be sharpened 5 - 20 times depending on saw kerf and the wear on the stellite. Saw Blade kerf varies according to the length of the blade and the type of material being cut. The saw kerf can be as thin as .70 mm (.027") and as thick as 1.6 mm (.063"). Hogging blades are often used on the outside of the wood to hog off the excess material and to produce usable slats on the outside.

Our saw blades come in the following lengths:

  • Saw blade Length 15" (380 mm) for a maximum cutting width of veneer slat 3" (75 mm)
  • Saw blade Length 16 9/16" (420 mm) for a maximum cutting width of veneer slat 4" (100 mm)
  • Saw blade Length 17 11/16" (455 mm) for a maximum cutting width of veneer slat 6" (150 mm)
  • Saw blade Length 19 11/16" (505 mm) for a maximum cutting width of veneer slat 8" (200 mm)
  • Saw blade Length 21 5/8" (555 mm) for a maximum cutting width of veneer slat 10" (250 mm)
  • Saw blade Length 22 5/8" (575 mm) for a maximum cutting width of veneer slat 10 3/4" (275 mm)
  • Saw blade Length 24" (610 mm) for a maximum cutting width of veneer slat 12 1/4" (310 mm)
  • Saw blade Length 25 6/8" (655 mm) for a maximum cutting width of veneer slat 13 3/4" (355 mm)

Hogging blades are available for all of the above lengths.

When choosing the saw kerf, it is important to consider the following:

  • Maximum height of the material being cut
  • Type of wood to be cut (soft or hard)
  • Feed speed required

Saw blades for the resaw are used for cutting both hard and soft wood. Saw blades are produced from high quality Swedish spring steel and the stellite teeth are welded to the body of the band. The geometry of the face is ground according to the type of material being cut. Saw blades can be sharpened multiple times, depending on the blade kerf and the condition of the blade being ground and tensioned.

Carbide saw blades are available through Ogden Sales Group. Customers who are cutting reclaimed wood or woods like teak that contain silicone (sand) or contaminants may need to use carbide blades. Carbide blades are available in the same lengths as stellite blades. Please contact our parts department for further information.
